Olaf Stuut’s new album Run, out June 10, sees him reaching the creative apex of his career as a producer, composer and performer. Ever an acutely sensitive and nuanced artist, Stuut’s desire to be known as a craftsman reflects itself in the myriad intricacies of his production.
Initially known for his remix work with artists like The Acid, Max Cooper and Tonik Ensemble, Stuut has toured Europe, built a strong following in his native city of Amsterdam and through visiting cities like Berlin, Paris, Barcelona and London on the way, all of which led him to open the DGTL festival earlier this year.
Run looks set to be his boldest statement. It’s a sprawling epic of electronic sentiment, at once both intricate and raw, which is as much as you can expect from a man who lists among his production influences both Hendrix and Debussy.
